Description
NOTICE: Only local sources will be considered under this solicitation. Local sources are sources (e.g., corporations or partnerships) that are physically located in Japan and authorized (i.e., licensed and registered) to perform in Japan, the type of professional service specified in this solicitation. Specifically, a prospective offeror must be duly authorized to operate and conduct business in Japan and must fully comply with all laws, decrees, labor standards, and regulations of Japan during the performance of the resulting contracts. In addition, prior to award of the contracts, offerors must be registered with the Government of Japan to do work in Japan and possess necessary and permits to perform work specified in this solicitation. CONTRACT INFORMATION: The professional services required to stop red soil run-off from the eroded slopes and the road surface near the 3200 meter marker by stabilizing the slopes using nailing and by applying soil cement to the road. Both sides of the road are h eavily eroded with potential for slope failure due to a large amount of rainwater concentrating at the locations where the road reaches its lowest point. The road has an approximately 150 meter stretch downhill with up to a 28% road gradient with no cross drains along this entire length. This topographic condition inevitably causes erosion at the lowest point of the road. The project also involves installation of cross drains along the 150 meter stretch of the road to avoid the concentration of rainwater that causes erosion. Request for Quotation (RFQ) No. W912HV-07-T-0029 will be available on 30 Aug 2007 and quotes are due 12 Sep 2007 and not later than 1500 hours Japan Standard Time.
