Description
The above referenced solicitation is hereby amended to respond to technical questions submitted. The due date for quotations, 3:30 PM Local Time on August 3, 2007, remains unchanged. QUESTION: The section regarding EXPOSURE OPTICS references the system, "Must be capable of achieving at least a 600 nanometer diameter spot size at the wafer plane." In relation to requested exposure wavelength of 450 nanometers, can more details be provided to clarify the relationship between the two requirements. The 600nm number is very small for the requirement as the mathematical workings of the wavelengths are not working. RESPONSE: In a general sense, the minimum spot size diameter is proportional to the laser wavelength times the focal length divided by the beam diameter. The requested exposure wavelength merely indicates the desire for a laser diode which currently have minimum wavelengths at 405 nm. The request is therefore that the optical train used for the system be designed to minimize the focal length while maximizing the beam diameter to the lens in order to achieve a spot size of at least 600 nm. Of course using a laser with shorter wavelength would be beneficial, but currently I believe the minimum wavelength available is the 405 nm stated in the RFQ.
