- CDC, National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), Office of the Director, located in Washington, DC has a requirement for Promoting Global Initiatives for Occupational Road Safety. In the last several years, efforts to promote global road safety for all have gained momentum. NIOSH has participated in a number of these activities, bringing the importance of occupational road safety to the attention of other stakeholders. The proposed purchase order is divided into two phases: Phase 1: Participate in planning an international stakeholder conference on occupational road safety tentatively scheduled for the fall of 2008. Develop a ?white paper? on global road safety ?best practices? as they relate to workers, which will serve as a background and discussion paper for the conference. Phase 2: Phase 2 is contingent upon future funding availability. Phase 2 requirements are: participate in a strategy/planning session with NIOSH and collaborators the day before the conference; give an overview presentation of the content of the white paper during a plenary session at the conference; participate in the three-day conference; and revise the white paper following the conference. Responsible sources that believe they possess the expertise and capabilities are encouraged to submit their inquiries to the Contracting Officer within 15 days from the posting date of this notice. All vendors must be registered at www.ccr.gov. Requests for quotations (RFQ) 0000HCCA-2007-46003 will be issued on or after August 16, 2007. The entire scope of work, background information, requirements and evaluation factors will be addressed in the solicitation when issued. Based on availability of funds, the government may exercise options for Phase 2 during fiscal year FY09. This procurement is a small business set aside in accordance with simplified acquisition procedures, FAR Part 13.
