- NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announces its intention to negotiate and issue a sole source award for services from The American Public Health Association, 800 1 Street NW, Washington, D.C. The American Journal of Public Health (AJPH) is the premier public health journal and is dedicated to original work in research, research methods and program evaluation in the field of public health (website: www.aiph.org). Readership of the AJPH includes more than 70 public health professions, specifically administrators and planners, physicians, educators and health information specialists, epidemiologists, nurses, scientists, and researchers. CDC intends to negotiate this requirement pursuant to FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) because the services required are available from only one responsible source and no other type of supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirement. The sole source procurement will be awarded as a simplified acquisition in accordance with FAR Subpart 13 procedures. The performance period for the prospective award will be five months from the date of award execution. In order to achieve the Agency?s requirement, the vendor shall perform the following tasks: 1) Provide an overall summary of the Consultation results presented in the AJPH journal issue including comments on the results from the research perspective. 2) Provide peer-reviewer comments, galley proofs, and final version of the papers to CDC and others. 3) Copy, edit, layout, and publish a journal issue in the AJPH and distribute additional copies to CDC. 4) Upon publication, disseminate mail copies of the journal issue to all subscribers. 5) Provide the AJPH journal issue free-of-charge on-line to subscribers and non-subscribers. Interested vendors may identify in writing their interest with a capability statement including references by AUGUSTS 10, 2007, at 4 PM EST. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals, however, all responses received, before the closing date, of this notice will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed acquisition is based upon responses to this notice and is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The NAICS code is 813920 with a dollar size of $6.5M. All responsible sources must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) www.ccr.gov. All responses must be in writing and can be sent via email to bbv9@cdc.gov or fax to 404-639-8095.
