Description
The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Bio-Tek, Highland Park, Winooski, VT 05404, pursuant to 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1)--Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This purchase is for one (1) each of the following items: 1) # SLFA Synergy 2 Multi-Detection Micro plate Reader with Luminesced, Fluorescence Intensity Top/Bottom and UV-Visible Absorbency. Temperature control to 50C and shaking are standard. Includes Gen5 Data Analysis Software; 2) # GEN5 Gen5 Software; 3) # SVCIQ17 Installation and Training /Lev 1. This instrument is used during two phases of a genomic DNA damage and repair assay- 1st to rapidly quantify genomic DNA from several organisms using picogreen fluorescence in a standard 96 well plate format and 2nd the instrument is used to quantify the amounts of PCR products as part of a DNA repair assay using quantitative amplification of specific genomic fragments. In addition to the picogreen fluorescence, the Synergy instrument is also capable of luminescence and time resolved assays. This purchase will upgrade the existing Bio-Tek Microplate Reader System. The upgrade must be compatible with the existing system and software database to keep data consistency for research projects. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability. Respond to this requirement by submitting written capabilities/specifications to the Contracting Specialist at the address stated above. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all responses received within 5 days from the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If no affirmative responses are received within 5 days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, the order with BioTek. The NAICS Code/Size is 339111/500 Emp. This procurement is to be processed using Simplified Acquisition Procedures in conjunction with FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and is not expected to exceed the Simplified Acquisition threshold of $100,000.
