- Description
- The Chiller Replacement project, located at the National Institutes of Health?s (NIH) Rocky Mountain Laboratories (RML) in Hamilton, Montana, consists mainly of replacing two 400 ton steam absorption chillers with two new 1,000 ton electrical centrifugal chillers. In addition to the new chillers, chilled water circulation pumps and cooling tower pumps will be replaced. Piping changes are required in the mechanical room as well as upgrades to the control and monitoring system. Removal of the existing units and insertion of the new units will be accomplished by removing and reinstalling existing louvers in the building wall. Electrical work includes demolition and replacement of existing switchboard, installation of new distribution gear, and demolition and replacement of feeders and breakers for chillers and pumps. A temporary generator is required for the cooling season of 2008. The new chillers must be installed and operational by April 15, 2008. The solicitation when published remains 100% set-aside for SMALL BUSINESS. An ammedment will be published to address the Governments responses to any questions.
