- This notice is being publicized in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 5.101 requiring Contracting Officers to disseminate information for proposed contract actions expected to exceed $25,000. Further in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 it is the intent of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to make award to the Ericsson, Inc. The intended order will provide for an identified need for the interception of call data channel and call content channel originating from Ericsson GSM MSCs for judicialized wire interceptions. Ericsson's proprietary protocol utilizes existing software and hardware to accomplish these interceptions, perform mediation of the intercepted channels, and provide delivery of the intercepted channels without the need of other vendor involvement or additional equipment. Further Ericsson's proprietary RES software provides for the activation of the interception feature in the CGSN node. Ericsson, Inc. is the only responsible source to provide the necessary equipment and services to support this requirement for lawful interception mediation and delivery equipment.
