- Description
- The Contractor shall provide Release of Information (ROI) services required for Government beneficiaries in the form of a Medical Records Clerk (MRC). Professional standards of the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) must be met. Some responsibilities include the analysis and processing of requests for disclosure of patient Protected Health Information (PHI) by patients, insurance companies, health care providers, attorneys or other third parties according to the HIPAA Privacy Rule and applicable State and Federal laws and/or regulations. Receive copy requests, quality check requests for appropriateness of release, verify benefit eligibility, pull/check out medical records utilizing the Medical Record Tracking Menu in Composite Healthcare System (CHCS), copy records, assemble record to its original state, check-in/file the record, complete required documentation, contact patient for pickup or mail or fax record as appropriate, maintain a log that tracks date of request, date completed, date picked up/mailed out. Be familiar and comply with all Federal Guidelines (HIPAA), Air Force Instructions and local policies regarding information management as it pertains to medical information and the release thereof.
