Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation No.W31P4Q-07-P-0586 is being issued as a request for quote. However, Meredith Taylor, Contract Specialist, (256) 876-3841 or Earnest Taylor, Contracting Officer, (256) 876-876 2 - The U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command, Research, Development and Engineering Center (AMRDEC) plans to award a sole-source procurement to Vashaw Scientific Inc., 3125 Medlock Bridge Rd., Norcross, GA 30071, to provide one Leica DM6000M Metallograph with motorized up-right stage and integrated hand controller.CLIN 0001 will be issued for one each: Leica DM6000 Metallograph outfitted with a motorized up-right stage and an integrated hand controller; the main system will include the following component s 1.Leica SM6000 B Automated Microscope Stand with: front touch panel sensitive LCD screen that provides a display of current microscope settings and control of motorized movement to additional features; constant color intensity control; integrated transmi tted light axis with motorized field and aperture diaphragms. 2. Objective Turret/ Incident Light Axis/ Filter Turret with: attached six position objective nose piece with M32x075 thread, ball bearing movement and internal click stops for precise objective rotation; objectives are parfocal and parcentric and point away from user while not in use; digitally coded objective positions; digitally coded and motorized field and aperture diaphragms; position slot to accept incident light filter slider. 3. Magnific ation changer module with stepped magnification factors or 1x, 1.5x and 2x. The encoded turret shall report magnification factor to the front touch panel screen. 4.Stage Bottom Plate. 5. Motorized DIC turret. Can accept up to three DIC objectives prisms. 6 . Digital microscope controller with integrated power supply for motorized microscope functions, 12 volt/100 watt illumination power supply and support for stepper motor stages. Includes RS-232 and USB cables. 7. Hand controller for motorized microscope fu nctions. 8. Motorized up-right stage. Includes three plate motorized stage for DM$/5/600 stands, 100x80mm stage travel, 2mm lead screw travel and 0.05 um resolution; repeatability 0.75um; accuracy +/-3.0um. 9. Set of six 78x32mm metal specimen slides for u se with specimen leveling press. 10. Specimen leveling press including a bottom platter with adjustable and lockable 3-point leveling and adjustable top. 11. Bright field incident light reflector module that is mounted on the four position turret. 12. Atta chable neutral density filter, ND 16, 6.6%, that slips over excitation side of Brightfield reflector module. 13. Dark Field incident light reflector module that is permanently mounted to the four-position turret. 14. Incident light reflector for DIC and po larized light with crossed polarized/analyzer and neutral beam-splitter.15. Trinocular observation/photo/video tube that includes an interchangeable tube for photo/video and observation, a binocular observation tube with a 30 degree viewing angle, accepts optional single or dual photo/video ports, built-in three position motorized light directing beam splitter that selects 100% to observer/0% to photo/video port, 50% to observer/50% to photo/video port pr 0% to observer/100% to photo/video port. May be cont rolled from variable function buttons on microscope stand, the front panel Touch-screen or software (if available). Includes a ring shaped dove-tail mount allows 3600 rotation with observation at any position. Includes 1x magnification factor and provides for field-of-view index up to 25mm. 16. Two HC mounts for photo or video cameras with selectable beam splitter to direct 100% of available light to either port. 17. Two single 30mm diameter, high eye-point, focusable eyepieces with a field of view index of 25mm and accepts 26mm diameter reticule. 18.12 volt/100 watt Halogen lamp house with .55 meter cable, focusable two element achromatically collector lens and a centerable 12 volt/100 watt halogen lamp socket.19. Five halogen bulbs (12 volt/100 watt). 20. Objective, 2.5x/0.07 with plano achromatic correction, free working distance of 11.2 mm, for use with or without a cover-glass. M25 x 0.75 mm thread. 21. Object ive adapter ring, M25 x M32. Allows M25x0.75 thread objectives to be used on the M32x0.75mm turret. 22. Objective, 5x/0.15 BD. A universal incident light objective for Brightfield, Darkfield, Polarized light and Differential Interference Contrast (DIC) tec hniques. A rotatable (180 degree) analyzer for use in polarized light, DIC applications and reflected light applications. 30. One dust cover for the metallograph. 31. Precision workstation 390 (minitower). Includes Leica Qnodules, industry standard methods (ASTM A247-67 (1990), JIS G 5502 ISO945:1975, Leica Qgrain, grain size techni ques ASTM E112, E930 and others. Leica Qphase for analysis of multi-phase microstructures, and Leica Qcoating for measurement of platings, films, and other coatings. 37. Two c-mount camera to photo port adapters, 0.55x. 38. Leica DFC 420 Color Digital Came ra and Leica DFC 290 Color camera for the metallograph. 39. Installation and training. Includes two days of training on digital imaging and system software, set-up and calibration. The place of delivery, acceptance, and FOB point will be Commander, US Army Research, Development and Engineering Command, AMSRD-AMR-PS-AM, Building 7103, West Line Road, attn: Albert S. Ingram, Redstone Arsenal, AL 35898. All responsible sources may submit an offer, which shall be considered by the Agency, if received by 1 August 2007, noon (CST). Any award resulting from this RFQ will be issued on DD Form 1155 and will contain all clauses required by law, the Federal Acqu isition Regulation (FAR), and the Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) as appropriate for the dollar value of the award.
