- NOTICE: Only local sources will be considered under this solicitation. Local sources are sources (e.g. corporations or partnerships) that are physically located in Japan and authorized (i.e. licensed and registered) to perform in Japan, the type of construction work specified in this solicitation. Specifically, a prospective offeror must be duly authorized to operate and conduct business in Japan and must fully comply with all laws, decrees, labor standards, and regulations of Japan during the perf ormance of the resulting contract. In addition, prior to award of the contract, offeror must be registered with the Government of Japan to do construction work in Japan and possess necessary construction licenses and permits to perform work required under this solicitation. PROJECT INFORMATION: This project involves renovation of an existing three-story Unaccompanied Enlisted Personnel Housing (UEPH) with 56 rooms (1+0 configuration). Work includes the repair of deteriorate d walls, carpeting; flooring; ceilings; windows; interior/exterior doors; electrical lighting/power system inlcuding fixtures, wiring, conduit, switches and receptacles; electrical transformers, wall covering; blinds, kitchen, bathroom fixtures and accesso ries; plumbing; HVAC system and exterior stairs/handrails repairs. Work also includes roof repair, exterior/interior painting, installation of fire sprinkler system, fire alarm, telephone/LAN, TV/PA system, building access control system, accessible parki ng stalls/lighting and ramps in the parking area, asbestos abatement, and lead based paint removal and disposal. The solicitation will be issued on or about August 13, 2007. The magnitude of this project is between 500,000,000 Japanese Yen and 1,000,000, 000 Japanese Yen.
