- YEAR 07 ZIP 64106 CLASSCOD Y-Construction of Structures and Facilities OFFADD US Army Engineer District, Kansas City-Civil Works, ATTN: CENWK-CT, 700 Federal Building 601 East 12th Street, Kansas City, MO 64106-2896 SUBJECT Rathbun/Southfork Wetlands Phase 3 SOLNBR W912DQ-07-R-0049 CONTACT, Sue Myers, 816-389-3843 DESC The United States Army Corps of Engineers intends to award a Lump Sum, Base, plus 4 optional years contract for the following: Work to include construction of a low level earthen embankment for impounding 18 3 of water for wetland cell known as S-13 located approximately ? mile west of Phase 2 wetland cells in Wayne County, IA. Embankment is approximately 2,750 ft in length and 5:1 slopes. Borrow will be from within the project area adjacent to the berm. Simple stoplog structures similar to those used in Phase 2 will work be placed for better water level management. Approximately 150 acres of emergent wetland/moist soil units will be created. Work will also include restoration of select areas of Shoreline along Rathbun Lake (up to 12 areas) . The goal is to preserve top of shoreline bank while restoring a more gradual slope where eroded banks have been eaten away. A slope of 5.5H:1V provides a smooth transition between steeper upper bank and less steep lower bank area. Lateral limits will vary with each site and are based on recent survey data. Quarry run rock will be placed at the sties, thickness, extent, and gradation will be specified for each location.
