Description

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service invites proposals for the Ocean View Trail Rehabilitation construction project at the Ninigret National Wildlife Refuge located in Charlestown (Washington Co.), Rhode Island. The work under this project includes clearing and grubbing that will involve the removal of several small boulders and cutting/removal of approximately 6 trees no wider than 5" in diameter. This project will convert an existing earthen surface trail to a handicapped accessible stone dust trail in accordance with the Architectural Barriers Act (ABA) Standards. The trail shall be at least 5 feet wide and have a grade no steeper than 5% wherever possible. The existing earthen trail is approximately 1350 feet in length and varies in width. Additive Bid Item includes construction of approximately 45' length of low boardwalk. This trail is adjacent to the new Headquarters/Visitor Center for several National Wildlife Refuges within the State of Rhode Island, and will represent an opportunity for visitors to the facility. Estimated magnitude of this project is between $100,000. and $200,000. This project is set aside for small business. The NAICS code for this acquisition is 237990 (SIC code is 1629). The small business size standard is $31 million. All responsible sources may submit a quote which shall be considered. Issue date will be o/a August 14, 2007.
