- The Bureau of the Public Debt, Administrative Resource Center, on behalf of the U.S. Access Board, has the need for a Contractor to research and report on the range of different methods used by States to implement and enforce accessibility requirements in state building codes or other accessibility codes. The focus of this project is to identify states that have adopted innovative models of accessibility compliance that are proactive rather than punitive. Unique models may include: specially designated staff or contractor programs to conduct plans review and on-site inspections; focused training in accessibility; professional credentialing for accessibility specialists or building officials; a uniquely qualified body to resolve questions of interpretation or other accessibility-related enforcement matters; or other approaches. The project should provide a detailed review of each model.
