Description

Furnish all labor, material and equipment necessary to repair the existing masonry (brick) smoke stack at the VA Northern Indiana Health Care System, 2121 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN. Work includes removing approximately five feet at the top of the smoke stake and installing a new reinforced concrete cap; removing and reinstalling lightening protection; and cleaning and caulking approximately 50 linear feet of vertical crack. There is also approximately 120 sq. ft of brickwork above the third ring that shall have the deteriorated mortar cut out and tuck pointed. The stack/boiler plant will continue to operate throughout the construction period. The estimated construction cost for this project is between $25,000 and $100,000. The NAICS is 238140 with a small business size standard of $13 million. This solicitation is not set-aside. Completion time is 90 calendar days from date of receipt of notice to proceed. Solicitation will be available on or about August 16, 2007 with a bid opening date of September 17, 2007.
