Specific Features: 1) External dimensions: 308 x 175 x 209 mm. Makes it ideal to locate in the existing rack where the existing GOES East & West equipment, e.g., receiver, antenna control unit, fiber receiver, down converter, and processing system is located. Space is limited and its ideal to carry upstairs on the roof for troubleshooting signal problems; 2) Weight of unit (5kgs) and size makes it advantageous to carry around; 3) The feature of having a USB port for allowing the capture of signal levels to a thumb drive in BMF and PNG formats makes it for creating a good working system baseline and for sending those captures to RF engineers via email when signal issues cannot be solved locally; 4) The feature of having a LAN connection is advantageous because it will allow for the signals to be monitored over the network as opposed to having to be physically in front of the unit. It can be all done remotely. 5) Resolution bandwith; Range 100 Hz (1 to 3 steps) allows for being able to see greater signal facility; 6) External DC power input connector allows for use of an external D.C. battery when troubleshooting is areas where A.C. power is not available; and 7) video output connector allows for replication of the signal display to an external display monitor for briefing purposes. The Tropical Prediction Center/National Hurricane Center (TPC/NHC) GOES ingest systems are the primary mission critical feed for satellite imagery data from NOAA??s GOES satellites, GOES-East and GOES-West.
