Description
The Food and Drug Administration intends to award a follow on purchase order to the JHPIEGO Corporation of Baltimore, MD. This is NOT a request for competitive quotes. The Purchase Order will be made on a sole source basis in accordance with FAR Part 13 - Simplified Acquisition Procedures for the following services to be performed both at Vaccine Safety Branch, Division of Epidemiology, Office of Biostatistics and Epidemiology, Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research, Food and Drug Administration under the simplified acquisition procedures. INTRODUCTION: The John Hopkins University Preventive Medicine Residency Program has been selected for this project because its residents can, during two or three months rotations working under the preceptorship of FDA/CBER medical epidemiologists, provide useful work output to help advance agency goals to ensure post-marketing surveillance of vaccines and other biologic products. WORK TO BE PERFORMED: The John Hopkins University School of Hygiene and Public Health Preventive Medicine Residency Program will provide residents for two or three-month educational employment experiences (rotations) under the supervision of medical epidemiologists of the Vaccine Safety Branch, Division of Epidemiology, Office of Biostatistics and Epidemiology, Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research, Food and Drug Administration. The residents will work primarily on post-marketing vaccine safety research, vaccine adverse events surveillance, risk communication or (if the need arises) similar work involving non-vaccine biologic projects. QUESTIONS DEADLINE: All questions are to be submitted via email to Ronald.Banzon@fda.hhs.gov no later than September 7, 2007, 2:00pm EST. All information received by 2:00pm EST on September 7, 2007 will be considered by the Government. Responses to this notice must be sent via email to ronald.banzon@fda.hhs.gov. No phone calls will be accepted. ANTICIPATED AWARD DATE: The anticipated award date is September 24, 2007; however, all dates in this announcement are subject to change.
