- There is no solicitation. The United States Fish and Wildlife Service, Contracting and General Services Division in Portland, OR has plans to award using other than full and open competition to Praqua Supplies LTD of Nanaimo BC for the following items: Heathro Electric Fish Pump, hoses and accessories for the Carson National Fish Hatchery in Carson Washington. The system provided by Praqua Supplies LTD is the only unit identified that meets all of the following needs: 240v 1 phase 60 Hz. Cart mounted, self priming. Includes 4" Male & Female hosebarb camlocks wireless remote control for pump, controls prime pump, drive motor and impellor speed from a range of up to 1,200 feet, Fiberglass Dewatering box 24 1/4 " x 29 x 54 with 4" inlet, 4" fish outlet, 4" water outlet. Included aluminum stand height adjustable up to 9'10", Mobile fish transfer station trailer with hydraulically operated dewatering deck and collapsible, pedestal mounted dewatering box. The Heathro Fish Pump is cart mounted and has a unique self priming system. Its precision machined cast aluminum single vane impellor and composite pump chamber have such fine tolerances that the Heathro pump is the only commercially available pump capable of safely pumping eyed eggs and fish from 0.05 gram to 400 grams. Additionally, it is the only cart mounted portable pump that comes with 6" inlet and outlets that can quickly be changed for use with 4" hose and a remote control feature which provides an infinite range of speed control from up to 1200 feet away. The large pneumatic tires and balanced weight allow one person to easily move the pump around the hatchery. Praqua is the sole manufacturer and distributor of a fish pump unit that includes all of the above mentioned features. The Service intends to award Sole Source to Praqua Supplies LTD of Nanaimo BC. This synopsis is a notice of intent to issue award using other than full and open competition and is not a request for competitive proposals. The determination of the Government not to open subject requirement to full and open competition was made IAW FAR 6.302-1.
