- The Air Force Research Laboratory Information Directorate, Rome NY intends to solicit and negotiate a sole source purchase order under the authority of 10 USC 2304(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1 with Mercury Computer Systems Inc, 199 Riverneck Road, Chelmsford MA 01824-2820 for the purchase of one (1) 2U Cell Prototype Chassis, designed for cell processor platforms and to support high performance system components. Though this notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations, information received within 7 days after date of publication of the solicitation will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The NAICS code is 334111. SOLE SOURCE JUSTIFICATION AFRL/IFEC has identified that the Mercury 2U Cell Prototype Chassis is the only item that is compatible with and meets the technical requirements for the Advanced Web Processor (AWP). At this time Mercury Computer Systems Inc is the only known source that manufactures and distributes the the Mercury 2U Prototype Chassis which meets the government's requirements to support and enhance the Advanced Wideband Processor.
