Description

Misawa AB will be posting a solicitation on or about 1 Sep 2007. The contractor shall provide qualified personnel and supervision necessary for the inspection, maintenance, and testing of all Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) units and breathing air compressors at Misawa AB, Japan. There are currently 89 SCBAs and two air compressors. The number of units may vary +/- five percent due to personnel requirements. All services and procedures will be conducted In Accordance With (IAW) inspection/maintenance and testing set forth by the manufacturer, National Fire Protection Association?s (NFPA) 1852 Selection, Care, and Maintenance of Open Circuit Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (Current Edition), 1989 Standard on Breathing Air Quality for Fire and Emergency Services Respiratory Protection (Current Edition), and Air Force Occupational Safety and Health Standard (AFOSH) 48-137 chapter 8 and 9. The government will furnish the materials necessary to repair SCBA units, special tools, and maintenance room. Performance period will be one year from 1 Oct 07 through 30 Sep 08 (basic year), with two option years. Note: the entire service will be performed at Misawa Air Base, Japan.
