Description
The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Talladega, Alabama intends to make a single award to a responsible business entity for the provision of Computer Maintenance and Repair Instructor. The instructor will provide three hours of service per visit to the facility which will comprise of a ?session?. The contractor will provide a total of two sessions per week bases on the times listed below: Monday & Thursday 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. This schedule has been determined the most feasible due to the Education Department?s needs prior to the solicitation for services, however, as services are provided within a correctional environment, variations in the schedule may be necessary. If needed, a schedule that is mutually acceptable to both parties may be implemented at a later time. To provide on-site classroom instruction to inmates for a Computer Maintenance and Repair certification program within a federal correctional facility. This course has recently been implemented within the facilities vocational-technical program to enhance training opportunities for the inmate population. The course objectives are centered toward a contemporary educational program, that provides students with a combination of text related studies and exercises with practical ? hands-on? instructional applications. The instructor shall be a qualified computer technician or teacher certified by any technical school or State Department of Education. The offeror will also be eligible if seeking certification or re-certification and is currently attending school to meet this requirement. The contractor must have good writing and organizational skills and be able to communicate effectively with inmates and department staff. The contractor shall also posses the ability to develop and direct a vocational course curriculum, that integrates with the final goals of student testing certification. The ability to understand new computer technologies and to teach computer technician skills are also required. In addition, having a working knowledge of current technologies and the capability of teaching the various hardware specifications and software programs is required.
