- The Federal Aviation Administration, Headquarters, Washington, DC, intends to award a brand name-mandatory purchase for a Spectrum Analyzer in support of the FAA Airway Facility located at the FAA's Technical Center, Atlantic City, NJ. The procurement is considered to be a brand name-mandatory purchase based on the proposed product's ability to quickly and effectively respond to Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) solutions in a manner to meet the FAA's desired outcome. The brand name product identified under this requirement is the Tektronix Spectrum Analyzer, Model RSA6106A. In addition to general features of the analyzer, the Tektronix RSA6106A has the unique capabilities to identify, differentiate complex waveforms, and display multiple waveforms using digital phosphor image processing technology. This unique feature represents a large advantage for the RFI investigating engineers. The desired delivery under this requirement is thirty (30) calendar days after receipt of order???FOB: Destination. Requirement: Tektronix Spectrum Analyzer; Model RSA6106A 1 BX Purpose of Announcement: In accordance with the FAA's Acquisition Management System (AMS) Policy 3.2.2.4 and AMS Procurement Guidance T3.2.2.8.A.5, the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis of the FAA's decision to contract via brand-name purchase order procedures and to conduct a market survey of interested sources under the requirement. Inquiries by interested vendors relating to this purchase must be submitted to the Contracting Officer, in writing, to: Kenneth.M.Carter@faa.gov, or via facsimile to: (202) 267-5420, no later than Friday, September 7, 2007, 12:00 p.m. (noon) EST. Note: In order to receive an award from the FAA, regardless of dollar value, vendors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) and the Online Representations and Certifications Applications (ORCA).
