Description
The Great Lakes Acquisition Center (GLAC) Milwaukee, WI intends to negotiate and procure on a sole source basis the following: Olympus EVIS Exera II, HD Endoeye Laparoscopes, Visera Deflectable Tip Laparoscopes, and OTV Visera Autoclavable Camera Head from Olympus Surgical Indust.America in Orangeburg, NY 10962. Equipment is for the VA Medical Center in Milwaukee, WI. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other vendor or product will satisfy agency requirements. To the best of our knowledge Olympus is the only company that can provide equipment with these specific features. The referenced products are the only products that have the ability to provide a surgical video endoscope system with the following features: 1. CCD video chip in the distal end of the scope to eliminate the need for a camera head on the scopes. 2. Video processor that is compatible with both HD and non-HD video endoscopes and camera heads. 3. Camera head that is autoclavable. 4. Deflectable tip laparoscopic scopes with 10 MM and 5MM. 5. High definition, distally mounted CCD video chip, autoclavable, 10MM laparoscopes. 6. Distally mounted CCD video chip, autoclavable, 5MM laparoscopes. NAICS 339112 with a Size Standard of 500 employees. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any firm that believes it can meet these requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer within (7) seven calendar days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail, to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. Information can be sent to the Contracting Officer via e-mail at elaine.rahn@va.gov or via fax at 414-902-5420. Responses received will be evaluated however; a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the GLAC will proceed with the sole source negotiation with Olympus as noted herein. Cost associated with the preparation and submission of information and/or any follow-up information request are the responsibility of the vendor and these costs will not be reimbursed by the Government.
