- The Air Force Research Laboratory Information Directorate, Rome NY intends to solicit and negotiate a sole source purchase order under the authority of 10 USC 2304(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1 with Raytheon Company, 1801 W Hughes Drive, Fullerton CA 92833-2200 for the purchase of two (2) MicroLight Receiver Transmitters; two (2) MicroLight Antennas; and two (2) Cable Assemblies. Though this notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations, information received by the response date of this solicitation will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The NAICS code is 334220. SOLE SOURCE JUSTIFICATION: AFRL requires these items for the AFRL project entitled N-CET to seamlessly integrate multiple N-CET pods together. N-CET requires that multiple radio back-ends be used to integrate pods together and connect pods to other systems already using certain radios. The project identified the Micro-Light radio as one such radio to be used because of its unique features. A failure to use the MicroLight radio will result in a general failure of this objective. Similar recent procurements have established an inventory that this requirement will augment. The radio is only manufactured and distributed by Raytheon.
