- The United States Army Communications-Electronics Command Life Cycle Management Command (CECOM LCMC) intends to award a five-year, Firm-Fixed-Price Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contract for up to $45M of tactical communications equipment. The following tactical communications equipment will be acquired under the proposed contract: Compact Digital Switches, five variations of Switch Multiplexer Units, Line Termination Units, Baseband Nodes, Tactical Interface Adapters, Transmission Interfac e Modules, Digital Voice Orderwire Interface Units, and Transit Cases and all associated peripherals, cables, circuit card sets and upgrade kits. The items to be acquired are Non-Developmental Items (NDIs) that are integrated into existing analog switching systems. Within the next five years, the analog switching systems will be replaced with digital equipment, however, in the interim, the Government needs to keep the existing analog switching systems in an operational condition. The total estimated ceilin g of the proposed contract is $45M. This acquisition is anticipated to be for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 and proposes to make an award to General Dynamics C4 Systems, Taunton, MA 02780. The propo sed acquisition has a NAICS code of 334220. The size standard is having less than 750 employees in order to be considered a small business. This acquisition will utilize FAR Part 15 procedures and the solicitation number to be assigned will be W15P7T-07- R-G436. Inspection and Acceptance will be at source and the FOB point is destination. Packaging shall be in accordance with ASTM D 3951-98 Commercial Packaging. The solicitation will be issued on or about 19 September 2007 and the anticipated award date will be on or around 31 January 2008.
