Description

"Notice of Intent to Award Purchase Order to Moore Tool Company Inc.". The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Acquisition Management's Division, on behalf of the Manufacturing Engineering Laboratory Division, intends to negotiate and award a purchase order on a sole source basis under authority of FAR 13.106(b)(1), with Moore Tool Company, Inc., for a service for a Part No. M48 Coordinating Measuring Machine that is manufactured by the Moore Tool Company, Inc. The sole source determination is based on Moore Tool Company, Inc. being the sole manufacturer and sole maintenance provider of the M48 Coordinating Measuring Machine. Therefore, Moore Tool Company, Inc. is the only source that can provide preventative maintenance for this equipment, as the technology is proprietary to the company. Moore Tool Company, Inc. does not authorize any other company to provide such a service. No soliciatation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations, however, responses received by August 20, 2007 will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government whether to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. NOTE: THIS NOTICE MAY HAVE POSTED ON FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (14-AUG-2007).
