- NOAA's Marine Operation Center has a requirement for dry dock repairs to the NOAA ship McArthur II. The contractor shall provide all facilities, supervision, material, and labor necessary to perform modifications, repairs, and preservation to the NOAA vessel McArthur II. The mooring and dry docking shall be accomplished at the contractor's facility. Performance of work is scheduled to begin 10 December 2007 and be completed no later than 7 March 2008. This procurement is a 100% small business set-aside. The NAICS code for this procurement is 336611 and the size standard is 1,000 employees. The work consists of approximately 13 basic items, and 10 option items. Basic work includes, but is not limited to: General Requirements for Work and Temporary Services; Provide ABS Inspection Assistance; Accomplish Main Propulsion Generator Engine Major Overhauls; Accomplish Dry Docking and Undocking; Accomplish Underwater Body and Equipment Inspection; Accomplish Underwater Body Preservation; Inspect and Repair Ground Tackle; Repair Sea Valves; Clean and Polish Propellers; Inspect and Repair Rudders; Replace Hull Zincs; Remove and Inspect Main Propulsion Shafts; Replace Miranda Davit Hydraulic Piping. Optional Items include, but are not limited to: Replace Deck Grating; Replace FO Purifier; Overhaul Steering Gear Hydraulic Cylinders; Replace Navigation Light Panel; Install TSG System; Reroute Propulsion Motor Cooling Water Discharge; Modify Main Propulsion Cooling Water Discharge; Install Elinca System; Modify MSD Piping; Install VSAT and Replace Main Mast. General Vessel specifications: Length 224 ft; Breadth (moulded) 43 ft; Draft, maximum 15 ft; Displacement 2,250 tons; Gross Tonnage 1,914; Net Tonnage 574. The vessel will be available for pre-bid inspection in Manzanillo, MX on 9 and 10 October 2007. A pre-bid inspection can be arranged by contacting the Contract Specialist at the e-mail address provided below. All responsible and fully responsive sources may submit a bid which will be considered by the Agency. Any resulting contract will be awarded as a firm-fixed price contract.
