Description
NASA/DFRC has a requirement for two CPCI ATR Chassis model 82XX and accessories. This equipment is going to be used in flight. The chassis will be designed to meet MIL-STD-810F for shock and vibration for jet aircraft as well as MIL-STD-461E for EMI/EMC for the same platform. The unit will also be designed to withstand the MIL-E-5400 and DO-160E 20g crash safety requirements as well as 20-30g operational shock environment from -1000 to 50,000 feet MSL. The unit will also be designed to operate from -40 degrees to +85 degrees C. NASA Selected cPCI PCBs may not operate to these temperature extreme, please check. An ARINC style mounting tray is not included in the pricing below. The chassis will be constructed of 5052-H32 and 6061-T6 aluminum alloys. All aluminum surfaces will be coated by a chemical film conversion process per MIL-C-5541E, Class 3, conductive. The chassis will then be masked and primed with a MIL-P-85582, two part, epoxy primer and finished with a MIL-PRF-22750 epoxy topcoat. The topcoat color will be per FED-STD-595B, semi-gloss black, fine texture or per NASA specification. Approximate size will be 7.62?H X 6.0?W X 12.675?D. Approximate weight for this proposal is 13-18 lbs without PCBs and I/O cabling but inclusive of power supply. All external connector locations will be identified with the appropriate engraved reference designators per NASA specification. Connector reference designator will be .125? high, white or black depending on final topcoat color chosen. NASA/DFRC intends to purchase the items from Data Metrics. This vendor is the only supplier that can deliver a system enclosure, backplane and power supply while meeting the project schedule. Data Metrics also is a partner with General Micro Systems who is providing the Compact PCI processor boards for the project. Doing business with Data Metrics will eliminate or reduce compatibility issues therefore resulting in no time lost towards the project schedule. The project is scheduled to begin in February 2008. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on September 20,2007.Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications [are/are not] acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
