Description
The US Army Research, Development and Engineering Command and Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center (RDECOM-ARDEC), Picatinny, New Jersey is conducting a market survey to identify potential sources capable of providing the complete Hungarian BEKM-82 Mortar Cartridge. A brief description of the BEKM-82 follows. Hungarian BEKM-82 HEAT Mortar Cartridge The BEKM-82 HEAT cartridge is used on the 2B9 82-mm Vasilyek Automatic Mortar and other derivatives of this design. The cartridge is a ten fin design, 330mm in length with a total mass of 3.1 kg. It consists of an internal mechanical fuze located at the base and a ballistic cap attached to the top of the cartridge. The propellant ignition train includes a removable percussion primer and propelling charge bags suitable for use in the Vasilyek automatic mortar and other derivatives of this design. Potential sources must provide a description of the actual cartridge being offered, to include ignition train chemical composition and weights; explosive train chemical composition and weights, as well as age and condition of the complete mortar cartridge as described above. If potential sources are outside the continental United States, all export licenses and supporting documentation shall be the responsibility of the offerer. Interested firms should provide, at no cost to the Government, the firm's past experience, production capability and capacity, size of business, description and location of facilities and personnel available to meet the stated requirements. Firms who may have already produced the same or similar items and have inventory available may indicate such. Delivery requirements would include shipment to ARDEC, Picatinny, New Jersey. All information submitted will be held in a confidential status. Large files must be compressed using WinZip (http://www.winzip.com). The market survey is for planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a request for proposal or as an obligation on the part of the Government.
