Description

By way of this Notice, and in accordance with FAR 6.302-2 -- Unusual and Compelling Urgency, The Chicago District U. S. Army Corps of Engineers announces its intentions to award a Sole Source, Firm Fixed-Price Purchase Order to Luedtke Engineering Co mpany, 10 Fourth Street, P.O. Box 111, Frankfort, Michigan 49635-0111. Luedtke Engineering, Incorporated will provide all materials, equipment, labor and supplies to remove seven (7) large, submerged pieces of concrete debris from the Calumet River, rangi ng in size from approximately 14 Tons to 64 Tons. At present, Luedtke Engineering has the largest crane in the Lake Michigan Area. Other cranes in the Lake Michigan Area are not capable of removing obstructions of this size. Luedtke Engineering previous ly removed 6 submerged obstructions in the Calumet River in 2006. This current requirement is in the same area and is identical in nature. Due to the urgency of this requirement, the contract performance period is for approximately four (4) calendar days . It is anticipated that the resultant purchase order will be firm-fixed price. This notice is NOT a Request for Quotation (RFQ); therefore, NO solicitation documents will be issued. Award is anticipated on or about 28 September 2006.
