Description
This is a sources sought for professional, skilled, subject matter personnel (2) to support conferences related to atmospheric and underground nuclear weapons testing conducted by the Department of Energy (DOE). This support includes providing historical overviews of the U.S. and foreign underground nuclear weapons testing programs; onsite briefings at Nevada Test Site locations; and conducting working sessions which include discussions related to current experiments. Discussion topics include subjects covered during the conference and application of previous nuclear testing to real world nonproliferation, arms control, and nuclear testing issues. Conferences are typically conducted six to ten times each fiscal year. The services required include providing classroom presentations for conferences concerning atmospheric/underground nuclear testing with historical background and leading panel member discussions for various working group sessions. Travel to the Nevada Site Office, the Nevada Test Site, and other DOE offices as required. Experience required: Minimum of a B.S/M.S. in any scientific discipline related to mathematics, physics, astrophysics, aeronautical engineering, etc. 15- 20 years of experience working in an organization that conducts nuclear experimentation Working knowledge of atmospheric/underground nuclear weapons testing programs Minimum of 5 years experience in conducting training sessions pertaining to atmospheric/underground nuclear weapons testing; includes preparation of classroom materials and leading panel discussions.
