- FCI Pekin is seeking information to purchase materials for a new Gym floor. In submitting information please use the following requirement and include specifications for materials. ALL MATERIALS SHALL MEET OR EXCEED THE FOLLOWING: SHOCK ABSORPTION - 53% , SLIDING CHARACTERISTICS .5 TO .7 RANGE, BALL DEFLECTION 90%, STATIC LOAD 100 PSI, FIRE RESISTANCE RATINGS PER ASTM E-648/NFPA 253 (CRITICAL RADIANT FLUX) CLASS 1 AND E-662/NFPA 258 (SMOKE DENSITY - GENERATION) OF 450 OR LESS. The tile shall be vinyl cushioned and approximately .5" thick. The tile must be able to be applied directly to the existing prepped concrete floor. Tiles shall be interlocking and made from a high impact polypropylene base material with a solid vinyl insert. Tiles shall have a clear polyurethane finish. Tiles shall be a minimum of 1 foot square. Materials shall be chemical, mildew and fungus resistant. Once installed the court shall require only routine maintenance such as mopping and general cleaning. Wall base trim/sealer and all edging protection shall be provided consistent with industry standards. Surface shall be adequately supported. ALL PRODUCTS SHALL CARRY A MINIMUM WARRANTY OF 10 YEARS. Taping for court lines shall have sufficient adhesive to ensure proper bonding to tile, free of discoloring and comply with mens basketball guidelines. Installation will be completed by institutional staff. Recommended installation instructions, preventative maintenance and general cleaning guidelines shall be provided to the institution. If bidding larger tiles, please adjust quantities accordingly. *Sample of tile and specifications are required with bid. Evaluation factors will include compliance with required specifications in addition to price to determine best value to the government. Bids shall include shipping if necessary.
