- The purpose of this announcement is to release information that was discussed during the FAA ATCOTS Industry Day on September 10, 2007. The FAA wants to ensure that interested vendors are kept informed of all pertinent information exchanges between the FAA and Industry. During Industry Day discussions, the FAA identified competencies for the Enroute, TRACON, Tower and Traffic Management air traffic controller positions. These competencies are being incorporated into the courses taught at the FAA Academy for Initial Controller Training in both the Enroute and Terminal Options. The competencies for the Traffic Management training will be incorporated into the course as it is finalized. The FAA is providing these competencies as stated at the ATCOTS Industry Day this morning. The FAA also captured questions and answers generated during industry day discussions. The consolidated list of questions and answer will be released on the FAA Contract Opportunities website on Friday, September 14th.
