Description

Dwight David Eisenhower Army Medical Center, Fort Gordon, Georgia has a requirement for a Rees Temperature Monitoring System, which is an upgrade to an existing system to monitor refrigerators and freezers containing blood products. Monitoring sys tem required by the College of American Pathologists and also by the FDA. The system consists of Centron Environmental Monitor Tower Unit, Centron Software, Auto Backup Software, Centron Factory Memory Upgrade, Monitor, Open System Software, Battery, Freq uency Hopping Transceiver, Wireless Repeater, Battery Backup for Receivers and Repeaters, Wireless Temperature probe, Types 2, 3, and 4, Wireless Temp and Humidity Transmitter, Voice messages for Centron or Seer, Voice Tags, Software map, Validation Kit, a nd Wireless Installation. Army Contracting Agency, SR, Directorate of Contracting intends to purchase the items as a sole source from Rees Scentific Corp, the only company that can revalidate integration with previously purchased system. The government i ntends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. This procurement is being conducted under FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The authority is U.S.C.2304(c)(1), Only One Responsible Source. Interested organizations may submit their cap abilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact no later than 4:30 p.m. EST on 19 September 2007. Interested parties may submit questions no later than 17 September 2007. Such capabilities/qualifications w ill be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to t his notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.
