Description
Plans and specifications are available (ON CD ONLY) from the Northeast Facilities Service Office, 6 Griffin Road North, Windsor, CT 06006-0300, Attention: Sue Lam, at a cost of $25.00 per set for an FSS interior renovation project at the Northwest/Boston Processing and Distribution Center, 200 Smith Street, Waltham, Suffolk Couny, Massachusetts. Work includes providing all material, labor and equipment necessary to complete miscellaneous interior demolition and systems renovations, including but not limited to, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, sprinkler and architectural work. Award of this project will be made to the firm providing the best value (combination of qualifications and cost proposal). In order for your submission to be considered, attendance at a pre-proposal meeting to be held on site (200 Smith Street) on Thursday, September 20, 2007 beginning at 10:00 a.m. is MANDATORY. Award of this project is subject to HQ funding approval. The estimated cost of the work is between $2.3M and $2.82M with construction completion no later than 240 calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed. On site visits may be arranged by contacting Daniel MacMunn, Manager of Maintenance at (781) 768-3157. This is not a formal invitation for bid; therefore, no bid bond or proposal guarantee is required. All offerors are required to submit a completed Contractor Qualification Statement along with a Company Health and Safety Plan which will be part of the evaluation process. Prior to award the contractor will be required to submit a project specific safety plan acceptable to the USPS Contracting Officer. In accordance with USPS requirements, the successful contractor will be required to submit a small, minority and woman-owned business subcontracting plan before Notice to Proceed will be issued. Please note that the successful contractor is expected to recruit subcontracting proposals from minority and woman-owned business as well as small businesses in order for the plan to be accepted. Also note that the USPS Northeast Area Environmental Health and Safety Guide Checklist must be reviewed, completed and signed by both the USPS Facility Manager and a representative of the successful contractor before work can begin. Since construction will exceed sixty (60) days, the contractor is bound by Contractor's Screening Requirements.
