- The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with GE Healthcare, pursuant to 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1)--Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. GE Healthcare is the only known source that can provide replacement parts and service support for: AKTA FPLC with FRAC-901, GE Model #18111867 (5 instruments); AKTAPURIFIER 10, GE Model #18111867; AKTAEXPLORER 10, GE Model #18120000; AKTABASIC 10, GE Model #18140100; TYPHOON 9400 PC, GE Model #63003853, and TYPHOON 8600 & IMAGEQUANT, GE Model #8600PC. This request is for a one year agreement to start on September 26, 2007(GE agreement type for AKTA instruments: USS1; TYPHOON 8600 & IMAGEQUANT: USG1; and TYPHOON 9400 PC: USG2). Respond to this requirement by submitting written capabilities/specifications to the Contract Specialist at the above address. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all responses received within 3 days from the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government whether a competitive procurement is feasible may be based upon responses to this notice and is solely at the discretion of the Government. If no affirmative responses are received within 3 days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, an order will be placed with GE Healthcare. The NAICS Code/Size is 811219/6.5 M. This purchase is to be processed using Simplified Acquisition Procedures in conjunction with FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items.
