- This announcement constitutes a Sources Sought Synopsis for market research. This is NOT a Request for Proposal. The following information is requested to assist the United States Marine Corps Program Manager, Advanced Amphibious Assault (PM AAA) in conducting market research of industry. PM AAA has a requirement for 30mm Armor Piercing Target Practice-Tracer Cartridges (APTP-T). The 30mm APTP-T cartridges must be ballistically matched to the 30mm APFSDS-Tracer cartridges MK258 and or the MK268. The APTP-T cartridge shall be a 30mm X 173mm and have the same physical characteristics as the present APFSDS-T cartridges. PM AAA is seeking information on all potential producers of the APTP-T cartridges described. All vendors having the capability of producing a 30mm APTP-T cartridge that can match the ballistics of the MK258 and or MK268 with a range of 2000 meters are requested to submit relevant capabilities documentation in response to this Sources Sought Synopsis at no cost to the Government. Contractors should include appropriate literature and capabilities summaries directly addressing their ability to meet the aforementioned capabilities. Contractors should submit responses electronically to Krista Francom at FrancomKA@efv.usmc.mil no later than 5:00 p.m. EST on 3 October 2007. It is emphasized that this information is for planning and information purposes only and is NOT to be construed as a commitment by the Government to enter into a contractual agreement, nor will the Government pay for information solicited. All data received in response to this synopsis that is marked or designated as corporate or proprietary will be fully protected from release outside the Government. Any information provided to the Government in response to this request will become USMC property and will not be returned. No solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. It is a potential offeror?s responsibility to moni tor navy Electronic Commerce Online (NECO) for the release of any soli citation or synopsis.
