- THIS NOTICE CONSTITUTES AMENDMENT NO. 002 TO THE COMBINED SYNOPSIS/RFQ FOR CENTRAL CONTROL WATER TREATMENT SYSTEM. Companies shall acknowledge all amendment(s) in their quote. This notice serves as the official amendment to subject synopsis/RFQ and a written amendment will not be issued. The purpose of this amendment is to extend the due date for receipt of offers, and answer/clarify questions 5 and 8 that were "pending" from amendment 001, answer/clarify new questions and to notify all that the layout has been uploaded to the request for quote (RFQ) as a word document. The due date for receipt of offers is extended to Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at 4:30pm eastern time (ET). 1.) QUESTION (previously number 5 on amendment 001): Are the 6 solenoids for the emergency shut-off? ANSWER: Yes. 2.) QUESTION (previously number 8 on amendment 001): 8.) If no schematics are available, is a site walk through going to available? ANSWER: Schematics are available and uploaded. 3.) QUESTION: What is currently being plated? ANSWER: The shop has Gold, Silver, Copper, Electroless Nickel, Black Nickel, Woods nickel, anodize and iridite. 4.) QUESTION: What is the current cycle rate of the plating line? ANSWER: The DI regeneration is not part of this procurement. 5.) QUESTION: There was no mention of waste discharge, flocculent tanks, metal recovery, etc... What is the current production line doing in these areas, and is the contractor have any responsibility for this operation? ANSWER: The Waste Treatment Facility has a system that removes all heavy metals before discharging down the drain. The waste treatment system is not a production facility. Companies shall provide the information stated in the synopsis/RFQ posted on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service (NAIS) on September 18, 2007. Documents related to this procurement are available over the Internet. These documents reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
