Description
The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), Research Triangle Park, NC intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Surgipath, Richmond, IL 60071, pursuant to 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1)--Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This purchase is for one (1) each Part Number 04GCS600 Automatic Glass Coverslipper. Surigpath MM24 Mounting Medium and Surgipath premier cover glass is required to be used with the coverslipper. Includes (1) One-Year Warranty, (2) Manual, (3) In-service , and 4)Five 30 Slide Baskets. System must handle 600 slides per hour, accommodate multiple cover glass sizes up to 60 mm and accept all commercial mounting media. System must not require a trough of xylene to operate and therefore not need to be ventilated. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability. Respond to this requirement by submitting written capabilities/specifications to the Contracting Specialist at the address stated above. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all responses received within 5 days from the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If no affirmative responses are received within 5 days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, an order will be placed with Surgipath. The NAICS Code/Size is 339112/500. This procurement is to be processed using Simplified Acquisition Procedures in conjunction with FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and is not expected to exceed the Simplified Acquisition threshold of $100,000.
