- The 96th Contracting Squadron, Eglin AFB, Florida intends to solicit and award a firm-fixed price contract for X-RAY FLORESCENCE INSTRUMENT as listed below. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This solicitation is issued as Request for Quotation. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. The announcement number is F1TBBB7242A001. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334516 with a size standard of 500 employees. Please identify your business size in your response based upon this standard. This acquisition is 100% set-aside for small business. The requirement consists of the following: CLIN 0001: (1 EACH) STANDARD ALLOY ANALYZER, must be able to measure aluminum, titanium, tungsten, steel, copper, chromium and all typical machining alloys, must be portable (<3.5 lbs), easy to use (takes into account ergonomic considerations and preferably no more than a one touch control), use an X-ray tube as an exciter and possess NO radioactive isotopes, have results repeatable within 15 seconds and have a reasonably high resolution and precision, should have a durable detector (preferably Si PiN diode) that can tolerate a temperature range of at least 50 degrees Centigrade and X-ray source that has up to 40 keV, up to 80 micro amps and more than three filter positions, software that can self-optimize testing conditions for the most optimal and repeatable results, device to contain an alloy library, yet still show the elemental concentrations detected, if the hand-held option is not used, would like this system to have the capability to be optionally-controlled from a PC CLIN 0002: SMART BEAM LOW Z MODULE The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-20.
