Description
This Request for Information (RFI) is issued solely for information and planning purposes; it does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFP in the future. This request for information does not commit the government to contract for any supply or service whatsoever. The Government WILL NOT PAY for any information received in response to this request for information nor will the Government compensate the respondent for any cost incurred in developing the information for the Government. Any request for copies of solicitations will not be addressed since this is a request for information, not a request for proposal. It is requested that information in response to this RFI be submitted NO LATER THAN 15 October 2007 to Alice Tornquist, Contract Specialist, Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Code 25211B562-3C, Highway 547 Lakehurst NJ 08733 or by email to alice.tornquist@navy.mil. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFP. Any comments provided may or may not be included in a formal solicitation. The Government will not release any information marked with a proprietary legend received in response to this RFI to any firms, agencies or individuals outside the Government without written permission in accordance with the legend. Respondents may provide information on any currently available product that meets the Navys requirements. The Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Lakehurst, NJ is requesting information pertaining to the availability of Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) reliable devices to function as a Time and Altitude Test Set. These test stands are to be used to conduct functional checks on Barostatic Release Units (BRUs), Time Delay Firing Mechanisms (TDFMs), Time Release Mechanisms (TRMs), and Drogue Guns found on U.S. Navy and Marine Corps ejection seats. The desired stand will be capable of testing these components for operating altitude and time delay compliance where applicable. Components consist of both mechanically and nitrogen fired mechanisms. Features desired in the test stand include: 1) compact design for shipboard use; 2) latest technology in automated test functions, digital displays, and vacuum pumps; 3) EMI hardened; 4) test chamber sized to accommodate all USN/Marine Corps ejection seat components listed above 5) accurate measurement of altitude to 1 foot and time to .001 seconds. The test stand should simulate altitudes from sea level to 21,000 ft above sea level. Electrical power shall be 120VAC, single phase, 60 Hz, less than or equal to 20 amps. The compressed air supply shall be no greater than 80psi.
