- Description
- THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI). The United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) is looking for suppliers of AN/PVS-7B Night Vision Goggles. The AN/PVS-7B is a single tube, bi-ocular night vision goggle configuration. The system employs user-friendly controls, an integrated IR illuminator, and internal low battery and IR indicators. The PVS/7 is light weight and significantly reduces operator fatigue compared to older heavier models. The AN/PVS-7B can be operated for up to 40 hours, powered by two "AA" alkaline batteries. In addition, the AN/PVS-7B has a quick-release lever that permits one-hand mounting and un-mounting, an IR-on indicator, and a low-voltage indicator. The AN/PVS-7B must be equipped with filmed image intensification tubes with a figure of merit (FOM) below 1250, where the FOM is calculated by multiplying the signal to noise ratio by the resolutions measured in line pairs per millimeter. The image intensification tube must not employ an auto-gating feature. The image intensification tube with a halo size greater than 1.0 millimeters in diameter is also required. Interested firms, capable of supplying this product, should provide the following information: cage code, company name, address, phone number, email address, a point of contact, estimated price, quantities available and delivery schedule. Information shall be submitted to Verdetta Weaver at weaverv@socom.mil no later than 1400 EDT on September 20, 2007. This request for information does not constitute a commitment, implied or otherwise, that a procurement action will be issued. This notice shall not be construed as a Request for Proposal or as an obligation on the part of the Government. No entitlement to payment will arise as a result of the submission of contractor information.
