Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) requires access to the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Electronic Libray Online (IEEE/IEL). The IEEE is a non-profit professional association in Piscataway NJ. The IEEE producese 30% of the world's published literature in electrical engineering computers and control technology under one libray subscription service and has nearly 900 active standards with 700 under development. The IEEE is the only source based on NIST's market research that can fulfill this requirement. Therefore, the Government intends to solicit ony one source under the authority of FAR 43 U.S.C.253(c)(1) and award a contract consisting of a base period of one year and a one-year option to extend the term of the contract. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations;however, other sources that believe they can satisfy NIST's requirement may submit a capability statement to the Contract Specialist identified below on or before the response date for this notice. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government whether to complete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is soley within the discretion of the Government.
