- This is not a solicitation, but a Notice of Contract Action. The United States Air Force (USAF), Air Force 579TH Medical Dental Group (MDG), Air Force District of Washington (AFDW), Contracting Division (AFDW/A7KM), intends to award a sole source Firm-Fixed Price (FFP) contract to the Piezosurgery, Inc. Piezosurgery shall provide a piezosurgery unit that will allow the 579th MDG Periodontic, Endodontic, Orthodontic and oral surgery faculty and residents to perform various dental procedures. This device is intended for use in the following dental applications: bone cutting in oral surgery, removing supra and subgingival calculus deposits and stains from teeth, scaling and root planning and retrograde preparation of root canals. The Piezosurgery will feature Micrometric cutting, Selective cutting, and Cavitation effect. This equipment will have an automatic turning circuit that offsets wear of the inserts, thus ensuring work in constant conditions of maximum efficiency. Under the authority of USC 2304(c)(1) pursuant to FAR 6.302.1(2)(b)(1)(i), the property or services needed by the agency are available from only one responsible source or only from a limited number of responsible sources and no other type of property or services will satisfy the needs of the agency. A determination not to compete this proposed contract is based on market research and is solely within the discretion of the Government. This announcement is not a request for competitive quotations. Inquiries should be directed no later than, 12:00 p.m., 21 Sep 2007, referencing F1A4A07206A001, to Ms. Lasondia Chaney, Contract Specialist, lasondia.chaney@bolling.af.mil. The Government will review all responses, without prejudice, whether or not the Government initially determines that another firm is fully qualified to fulfill the 579th MDG requirement.
