- AMENDMENT #A05: The time offers are due is extended to 3:00 PM. --- The OFFEROR'S PROPOSAL RETURN PACKAGE should be returned via USPS Express Mail or USPS Priority Mail for delivery by the proposal due date and time. --- ALL ATTACHMENTS ARE TO BE INCORPORATED INTO THE SOLICITATION.---QUESTION: According to the Engineering Department of Wausau Window, the specified 2 1/2" deep frame depth is not sufficient to hold the size of the specified windows which is the 4250 series. They recommend a 4 1/2" depth. --- We will forward the information from Wausau as soon as we receive it. --- ANSWER: THE SPECIFICATION IS A PERFORMANCE SPEC AND DOES NOT CALL FOR A 2 1/2" FRAME DEPTH. THE DRAWINGS SHOW A 4 1/2" FRAME (WHICH HAPPENS TO BE A TRACO TR-700, JUST ONE OF THE POSSIBLE ACCEPTABLE WINDOW SYSTEMS).------------------------------------------------------------------------- A fixed price contract to replace windows and repair pre-cast concrete panels at the United States Postal Service Headquarters Bldg. The work consist of replacing the glass with insulating glass in approximately 2,200 windows (alternate is to replace window frame and glass) on the 13 story building. Pre-cast concrete panel repair includes approximately 64,000 linear feet of joint sealant replacement; approximately 185 locations of spall and crack repair; 360 feet of soffit panel crack repair; approximately 1020 linear feet of balustrades removal replacement and approximately 500 locations of hoist anchor spall repair. Additional work includes stucco soffit crack repair and overhead protection at entrances or as required. All work is to be done in accordance with USPS approved plans and specifications. A MANDATORY PRE-PROPOSAL MEETING IS SCHEDULED, AUGUST 22, 2007 @ 10:30 AM. Project location, 475 L?Enfant Plaza, Washington, DC 20260. On-site contact, William Ambrose PH (202) 268-3873. The total construction time for the project is 365 calendar days; estimated construction cost range is $4,800,000 to $5,300,000. The project will be funded within the next the 30 days. This is an open solicitation to pre-qualified and not previously qualified contractors.
