- Description
- THIS AMENDMENT IS ISSUED TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS. THE CLOSING DATE AND TIME FOR QUOTATIONS REMAINS UNCHANGED. QUESTION 1. Question 17 revisited: ASME N510, Section 6, Duct and Housing Leak and Structural Capability Te sts provide the procedure for performing the duct/housing leak tests, not the acceptance criteria. ASME N509, Section 4.14.2 states that The system designer (Engineer) shall determine leakage criteria and allowable leakage to meet governing Codes, Standar ds, regulations, and plant-specific requirements. ASME AG-1, Article HA-4531 and SA-4531 state that the Owner or designee shall establish the allowable leakage to ensure ventilation, temperature, and contamination control functions are achieved. Please e stablish the allowable pressure boundary leak rate so we know we are providing what is required. ANSWER: 0.0005 CFM/cubic feet volume The maximum leakage rate in CFM = (0.002 x V) / 60 minutes. The rate is measured by pressurizing the housin g to 10 inches water gage and then monitoring the pressure and temperature after 5 minutes or more. QUESTION 2. With regard to the aspect ratio question: 2.1 Since the FIF is now rated for 2000 CFM, the 5000 CFM system will require six FIF 's (three in parallel x two in series. We need confirmation that APG wants the FIF's stacked one on top of the other so that the overall dimensions for one FIF section is 50 inches wide by 76 inches high by 24 inches deep. ANSWER: The Gove rnment is providing 8 FIF housings for the 5000 CFM system. Please integrate the 8 housings Four in parallel and Four in series. Allowed to stack two high two wide which requires access from both sides for filter change out. 2.2 Since the FIF is now rat ed for 2000 CFM, the 3000 CFM system will require four FIF's (two in parallel x two in series). We need confirmation that APG wants the FIF's stacked one on top of the other so that the overall dimensions for one FIF section is 50 inches wide by 48 inches high by 24 inches deep. ANSWER: The Government is providing 6 FIF housings for the 3000 CFM system. Please integrate the 6 FIF housings three in parallel and three in series. Allowed to stack three high with access from one side. The two FIF systems are for a special chamber where excess gas absorption capacity is desired. NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (14-SEP-2007); HOWEVER, IT DID APPEAR IN THE FEDBIZOPPS FTP FEED ON THIS DATE.
