- Description
- The VA Western New York Healthcare System (Buffalo campus), located at 3495 Bailey Ave., Buffalo NY 14215, intends to procure one (1) Volcano s5i Imaging System, including all associated end user license agreements and standard maintenance agreements, in addition to other associated components, on a sole source basis. This procurement will be made from Volcano Corporation, 2870 Kilgore Road, Rancho Cordova, CA 95670. The appropriate NAICS code is 423450, Medical Equipment Merchant Wholesalers. This procurement shall be made on a sole-source basis under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. The Volcano system has several salient characteristics necessary to the VA Medical Center, as listed below, that cannot be met by any other source. 1. System must be compatible with the Pioneer reentry catheter (Medtronic), which is the only reentry catheter currently used in the VA WNY Hospital for crossing long occlusions. 2. The device must have color mode. 3. The device needs to offer plaque composition analysis. 4. The device should not need to be constantly flushed. 5. The device should be designed for peripheral vessels (rather than coronaries). 6. The device needs to have a concentric imaging system. 7. The catheter needs to be easy to track. In addition, the device must have Rotational Catheter specs of 45mhz field resolution, 23mm monorail segment. Phased Array Catheter must have 20Mhz field resolution, 24cm monorail segment, and no moving parts. The unit must have real time automatic borders and measurements, integrated IVUS, must have true integration ability (compatibility with all major imaging companies), and a full range of pullback devices. The Government believes that only one responsible source can provide the equipment that will satisfy agency requirements. Other persons/organizations may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement by 3:00 p.m. EST, September 26, 2007. A determination by the Contracting Officer not to compete this proposed action based on responses to this notices is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer. All inquiries must be submitted in writing (email) with "VA WNY Ultrasound system" in the subject line; telephone inquiries will not be accepted, nor responses received after the close time/date. Any vendor believing that they can meet these criteria as well or better than the listed model shall contact the provided POC before the closing date to provide proof of their capabilities. If this proof is not given within 24 hours of the closing time, no further consideration will be given to any interested party. NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (19-SEP-2007); HOWEVER, IT DID APPEAR IN THE FEDBIZOPPS FTP FEED ON THIS DATE.
