Downs Blvd; Tampa FL 33612 Description THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. This is a notice of intent to award a sole source contract. The Department of Veterans' Affairs, James A. Haley Veterans' Hospital (JAHVH) located in Tampa, FL intends to solicit and negotiate with Cryocath Technologies Inc. for the procurement of a Cryo-ablation System for use in the Electro Physiology Laboratory in the Cardiology Section. Cryocath Tech. Inc. is the only cryo-ablation system available that Veteran's Affairs electro-physiologist's at James A. Haley Hospital are trained and qualified to use. This system allows electro-physiologist's to treat arrhythmias with cold rather than heat. Cryotherapy is a sophisticated alternative to current heat based therapies. This acquisition will be accomplished using commercial item procedures in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 12. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, for Other Than Full & Open Competition. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all information received by 3:00 p.m. EST, 21 September 2007, will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. NAICS 334510 with a size standard of 500 employees.
