Description

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for Commercial Items prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items, as supplemented with additional information included in this announcement. This solicitation incorporates provisions and clauses in effect in the March 2005 FAR Revision, including all FAR Circulars issued as of the date of this synopsis. The NAICS Code is 541519. It is the intent of the National Library of Medicine to negotiate on a sole source basis with IBM Inc., for the purpose of software support and maintenance renewal for proprietary software. This notice of intent is not a Request for Quotations (RFQ), nor is an RFQ available. Information received in a timely manner will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government to conduct a competition for this proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
