Description
The U.S. Army, ARDEC-Picatinny is conducting a Market Survey to obtain well rounded contractors who have demonstrable experience in providing a wide variety of machine shop equipment, laboratory equipment and related facilities maintenance support and prototype manufacturing support for the Armaments Engineering & Technology Center. The required maintenance service will include but is not limited to repair, calibration, adjustment, parts, maintenance supplies, disassembly and assembly, utility connects and disconnects associated with equipment including electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components and systems. The required maintenance equipment list includes but is not limited to servicing: Numeric Control/Computer Numeric Control (NC/CNC) equipment, mills, lathes, drills, grinders, saws, sheet metal equipment, welding equipment, presses, heat treating equipment, compressors, environmental chambers, drying and aging ovens, explosives machining lathes and test equipment. Additionally, the contractor must be capable of refurnishing existing equipment, and restoring to operation. All maintenance support is for equipment located at Picatinny. Consequently, respondent and employees proximity to Picatinny is very desirable, as contractors need to be close by to provide daily support and respond to urgent requests (defined as less than six hours) by the ARDEC technical segment for maintenance/manufacturing support. Therefore the contractor must be located within a 30-mile radius of Picatinny. Additionally, existing accounts with local and regional suppliers, as well as specific equipment manufacturers or factory sources, is imperative to obtain parts and supplies, in an expeditious fashion, to properly execute maintenance of the equipment/facilities, and component production requirements. The required prototype manufacturing (machining, fabrication and assembly) support includes but is not limited to providing technical personnel who possess demonstrable experience in safe set-up and operation of the equipment and facilities previously described. Respondents should have sufficient, existing personnel and capability to furnish these requirements to the U.S. Army. Interested firms, who feel they are capable, are invited to indicate their interest by providing to the U.S. Army a brief summary of their company’s capabilities including a brief description of personnel, including certifications, and past experience. Interested firms shall provide the name, address, point of contact with telephone number and email address. The respondent should indicate whether the firm is capable of executing both the maintenance/repair and the prototype machining support described, or if the firm is only capable of the maintenance/repair support or only the prototype manufacturing support. This information shall be provided at no cost to the Government. The Federal Supply Group for this program is 34 and the NAICS Code is 332710, but NAICS 811310 also applies. All responses must include company name, address, point of contact, phone and fax numbers, email address, and business size. Respondants must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration at http://www.ccr.dlis.dla.mil/ccr/scripts/index.html. This is a sources sought notice for planning purposes only. This is not a solicitation and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. The information shall be submitted within 30 days from the date of publication. Electronic submission is required, either by email to: john.fox6@us.army.mil or on a CD/ROM to: US Army JM&L LCMC Acquisition Center, AMSML-AQ-JA, Bldg. 10, ATTN: Mr. Vince Fox, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000.
