Description
SPECIFICATION FOR DISK AND TAPE DEGAUSSER 1. CLASSIFICATION Degausser must be a ?Chamber Type Degausser? and meet DoD specifications for purging classified/sensitive information from hard disk media up to 5000 Oersteds. Degausser must also meet DoD specifications for purging all classified/sensitive information from tape media up to 2600 Oersteds. Degausser must be listed in the National Security Agency (NSA) Degausser Evaluated Products List (DEPL) as meeting these requirements. 2. REQUIREMENTS 2.1 MEDIA 2.1.1 Degausser must accept hard drives to 1 inch high by 4 inches wide by 5.8 inches deep including floppy disks, zip disks, jazz disks, and hard disk drives without removing the disk platters. No special adapters required. 2.1.2 Degausser must accept tapes up to 1 inch high by 4.3 inches wide by 7.3 inches deep, including DLT III, DLT IV, SuperDLT, LTO, LTO-2, 8mm, DDS1, DDS2, DDS3, DDS4, S-VHS, D-9, DVCam and VHS. No special adapters required. 2.1.3 Degausser must accept (10) 4mm tape cartridges and (3) 8mm tape cartridges per cycle. No special adapters required. 2.2 PERFORMANCE 2.2.1 Degausser must generate a minimum peak magnetic field of 1.4 Tesla. 2.2.2 Degausser must be a ?Capacitive Discharge? operation with an erasure time of less than one second. 2.2.3 Degausser must have NO moving parts. 2.3 CONTROLS AND INDICATORS 2.3.1 Illuminated POWER switch, START push-button, NORMAL and FAULT indicators with audible alarm to announce cycle or warn of malfunction. 2.3.2 Backlight 48-character digital display prompts normal operation, simple user-activated self-calibration function, comprehensive service and diagnostic functions. 2.4 DIMENSIONS 2.4.1 Degausser must be no larger than Height: 54.8 inches Width: 17 inches (rack-mount) or 30 inches (floor model) Depth: 30 inches Weight: 420 pounds 2.5 POWER REQUIREMENT 2.5.1 Degausser must be 120V, 60HZ, 8 Amps NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (19-SEP-2007).
